The NGH is a small weekend house that overlooks the River Kuma in
Kumakura, Japan. It’s approximately a 13′x13′x13′ cube, but  functional
enough due to the ramshackle space that is formed by the cedar logs,
creating spaces for seating, sleeping, eating, storage, etc.

++++++++++

Functional as in…kinda useless? It looks like sophisticated playground equipment.

Peter Marigold has created the most organic yet usable shelves ever. And most importantly, expandable. Thumbs up.

Patchwork Series by Amy Hunting

you’ve heard of patchwork for quilts, but have you heard of patchwork for wood?  amy hunting a furniture designer and illustrator based in london has created furniture known as the ‘patchwork series’. the series consist of lamps, chairs and a book box. each of the products were produced using wood off cuts that were collected from factories around denmark. the lamps were cut out of large solid blocks of wood and made from small off cuts. there are 12 lamps in the collection and each can be stacked on top of one another. the book box has built in book stands and can be used for different size books. all of the products are made entirely from wood and do not use any bolts or screws.

++++++++

There’s plenty to like here.
